2012 Saint Lawrence Fall Festival
The Saint Lawrence Fall Festival is held every year on the first Sunday in October. People come from miles around for a home cooked meal, live auction, country kitchen, and games for the kids. The original German smoked sausage sold by the pound is the center piece of it all. This year they sold over 13,000 pounds in a matter of a few hours. The Saturday prior hours before the sun comes up, local Saint Lawrence men, mostly farmers by trade start the time honored tradition of making authentic German sausage. It is a sight to see, everyone plays the same roll from year to year. Meat cutters, stuffers, hangers, seasoners, transporters all make it happen. The magic part is that by noon it is all hung up in the smoke house, kegs are tapped, ribs are cooked, and a celebration ensues.
We were very proud to be part of this years fall festival. Kids and adults of all sizes took a few minutes to have their pictures taken. As shown in the video below we had a lot of fun.
Thanks to everyone that supported us, we will be back next year.
